Background

MCC began acting for the joint private landowners back in 2015. At the time, redevelopment of the land was contrary to planning policy and there were doubts about whether an acceptable access could be achieved for residential redevelopment. 

Devising a strategy for the Client, MCC eventually helped agree terms with Reside Developments to promote the land. They not only achieved a site allocation within Fareham Borough Council’s Local Plan, but also access for the Client’s land (105 dwellings) and potentially for the wider allocation (up to 400 dwellings). 

This was challenging from a technical and legal perspective, but the result exceeded all expectations. A sale of the land was completed in mid 2020 with construction likely to commence in 2021.
